Beauty Binge!

I saw these new brushes in Superdrug and fell in love. I'd been eyeing them up for a while and when they were released I couldn't get them quick enough!

I only got 3 as I figured I probably shouldn't buy many more brushes as my collection is getting a little out of hand.
They're on offer at the moment with about £2 off so if you're thinking of getting some, I'd get some now! They range in price and are usually about £10, with the eye shadow and smaller brushes being about £6 (don't quote me).

I also ended up getting the Brush Cleanser because I didn't actually have one and only ever washed my brushes using baby shampoo, which is way too much effort! The brush cleaner is only £4.99 and is actually pretty good.

I thought it smelt a little like glue? But it seems like this is the standard smell for make up brush cleansers, as the No 7 one smells basically the same.

It's worked at getting some of my most dirty brushes back to the lovely looking white coloured bristles, So I am definitely a fan of it!

The bristles are very soft and I've washed them a few times and so far they have shown no signs of shedding.

The blush/contour brush is the one I now use for my blush as it's just perfect (I'm still in love with my real techniques blush brush, mind)
The powder brush is great at power but I also feel like it would be good for blusher as it's large, but not too large... Would be good for travelling so you don't have to take too many brushes with you!
The finishing brush is my least favourite. I use it after I've put my foundation on to buff it in more, but I feel like I would not be able to use it alone for foundation as it just doesn't seem to blend it in properly on it's own.
I do love it to blend my foundation in afterwards though, so it is kind of an 'extra' brush and wouldn't be an essential one.

If you were just to buy one brush, I would probably say go for one of the other two!

I'm always looking for new brushes, I have some sort of addiction with it and my collection is growing so please feel free to let me know of any amazing brushes I should try out!

I feel like it has been a ridiculously long time since I last did a blog post, well not that long... but long enough! University has officially taken over my life but since i'm giving myself a day off, I figured I best try and catch up on some blog posts!
I've been wanting to get this post out ASAP as I know the box will not be around forever,
so without further ado!

I was procrastinating in the library when I stumbled across this beauty on the website.
The box is £16.99 and is said to be worth £99! Which is such a good deal, you'd be stupid not to get it...
The one thing I like about the latest in beauty boxes is that you get to see what is in the box before actually buying it. So you know if you're going to use all the products or not. From a glance, the box looked pretty good.. Not only did you get some amazing products, but you also got a year subscription to Glamour magazine!! You'd pay more for that alone..

I can honestly say there is only 1 product that I won't use which is pretty good going for a beauty box! There's usually a couple that I'm not all that bothered about.

The nail polish is a gorgeous blue colour and I've actually had a few compliments at work, even though it's just a standard block colour I'm wearing. The diamond top coat (also from Revlon) is absolutely amazing. I've had this nail polish on for a few days now and it hasn't even chipped. It may even overtake Sally Hansen on my fave top coats of all time...

The Beauty UK eyebrow kit is very impressive! The colour isn't for me, the dark colour is a little dark for an average day and I find the lighter brown to be too.. orangey? But the wax is incredible and I've been using this every day. I highly recommend this product!

The kiko long lasting eyeshadow was something I was very excited about, having bought one from kiko before I knew I loved the formulation. This came in a light champagne colour, so is something that I will actually use. I've used it a couple of times and really liked the way it looked.
I've not yet used the Moroccan Oil hair mask, the Nuxe face mask or the Model Co cheek and lip creme but I'm very excited to. They're all products that I would usually buy and use so to get them in a beauty box is always a bonus!
I even like the perfume it comes with, which is Elie Saab 'L'Eau Couture', it smells lovely.

The one product that I am not overly impressed with is the Rimmel Oh my gloss! Simply because the colour is not something I would usually buy, and I'm not really a lip gloss girl. I might give it a whirl in the summer but I'm not too fussed as I definitely got my moneys worth.

You also get several codes for the brands such as kiko, model co and and Elie Saab, which is useful if you want to purchase the full size item.
This is the first box I have ever bought from Latest in Beauty, but I am very impressed! I will definitely be buying from them again if one of their boxes takes my fancy.

If there's one thing that excites me by the start of the new month, it's Birchbox! I always look forward to trying the products and seeing what goodies are inside, I wish I could afford to subscribe to all the beauty boxes out there, I really do :(

So the one thing that I was really excited for, was the design of the box itself. As they collaborated with Habitat this month, the box had a really lovely design.

Let's get onto the contents of the box..

I must say I was a little  disappointed with the contents and after speaking to a few others, they feel the same way!  The first thing I noticed was that there was no bag inside like usual. I loved the bags as I found they were really useful and I actually got use out of them.

The first thing is Benefit - Bad gal Lash which I actually chose as it's my favourite mascara of the three that they have so it's always good to have a back up (and saves me buying it again!).

The fragrance Catherine Malandrino - Style de Paris isn't too bad! I'm usually into sweeter scents but I can just about cope with this, it's not totally amazing but it's always good to have perfume samples as they're easy to carry around.

Philip Kingsley - Elasticizer, at first I thought this was just a shampoo, which I was happy about as I'm going to London in a couple of months so travel sizes are ideal! However after reading the card just now, I've found it to be a pre-treatment shampoo! Which I'm even more excited about as I've never really tried anything like that before! It retails for £27.50  so the chances of me ever purchasing it is slim, but it's nice to have the chance to try it.

I've recently been getting more into body scrubs so to receive the Janjira - Thai lime and ginger shower scrub was pretty exciting. I recently bought 3 from soap and glory so I'm going to save this one for when I go away! It smells really fresh and I'm pretty excited to try it. It's priced at £22 so it's going to have to be pretty spectacular if I'm ever going to buy it.

The last beauty related item is the Lord & Berry Couture kohal kajal eye pencil in black, which is the only colour eye liner I ever use! I've only ever tried their bronzer before (a sample through birchbox previously) but I didn't fall in love with it. Hopefully this one, I will! You can never have too many black eye liners though so I was glad to get this!

The lifestyle extras included a mini notebook which is super cute, and a preview of a book. I'm not really into getting book chapters as much as I would used to have. I don't have the time to read so much any more so it doesn't really interest me to get these!

As always, there is a coupon code for 20% off the collaborated brand and there is also a few sneak peaks for the next box!
There is going to be a Laura Mercier sample in the April box and it also mentions another pick your own sample, which I always love doing!
It also mentions a limited edition box coming in April, which I am VERY excited for!

When I first opened the birchbox, I was a little let down but to be honest, after thinking about each product in depth and writing this, it's made me realise that it isn't actually that bad of a box! I'll admit there has been MUCH better months, but it's not a terrible box altogether. There's a few brands that I haven't heard of so it's good to try them out.

If you were thinking about getting this box but haven't fallen in love with this months, make sure to have a look at previous months as it has been so much better before.

If you fancy signing up and use the link below, you'll get 50 points to spend in the BirchBox shop (Equal to £5)!

I recently popped into Boots to buy the Clinique high impact mascara.. I got a sample of it in a magazine a while ago and fell in love with it!
I'd been wanting to purchase the full size for ages but never took the plunge, I'm glad I waited.
Boots have a gift set on (I'm assuming it's some sort of mothers day gift) where you can get the full size mascara and a sample of the 'All About Eyes' eye cream and the 'Take Off The Day' make up remover.  For the same price!

So for £17.50 you get the two free samples, along with the mascara. I didn't realise till I asked for the mascara and she mentioned this, I didn't quite believe her to be honest!

The mascara is one of the best I've ever tried and I absoloutely love the brush. I'm a big fan of bristle brushes and find my favourite mascaras usually have these.

The mascara itself comes in Black or Black/Brown (But I think the gift set is just in black) and is the perfect consistency! I can't sing its praises enough, you just NEED to try it... and especially since they have the gift sets where you get a couple of freebies, you can't really say no.

I'm really looking forward to trying out these products as I've not tried them yet but I've heard really good things about these flying around the internet!

As a total impulse buy, I picked up the 'Revolution' palette 'Flawless'. It's the perfect nude palette and has 32 shades. I'm a big fan of the eyeshadows from Revolution and love the dupes for naked palettes as they're a much cheaper alternative! This palette was only £8 and is certainly worth the money!

I have no idea why but it just gives me some sort of thrill when they have names, as most of the cheaper brands don't tend to name their colours all the time, which can be annoying!

So I was absolutely thrilled to discover this palette had names! It's a little annoying that it's on a plastic sheet that may potentially get lost... but who am I to complain?!
The palette includes both shimmers and matte so is perfect to create any eye look you would want to. It's got neutrals and even has a couple of burgandy shades, which I'm recently getting into! Huge bonus!
I also like that it has darker, almost black shades in as some neutral palettes usually lack these.

So I know I'm singing it's praises so far, there has to be something wrong with it... right? Wrong!

The pigmentation
on these is absolutely amazing! This was from just one swipe of the colour. With palettes as good as this around, it really makes me not want to buy any of the naked palettes, as nice as they look, I would much rather spend £8 on a palette like this and get a wider selection of colours.

Both MUA and Revolution never fail to impress me with their eyeshadows, I've almost got all of the MUA palettes now and it's starting to become a bit of an addiction!
What are your favourite products from Revolution? Let me know if there's any must-haves that I need to try!
