Beauty Binge!

I AM SO IN LOVE WITH THIS MONTHS BIRCHBOX!!!

The May birchbox brought another 'pick your own sample'. I love it when they do this as it's good to get the choice of one product so you know you're going to actually like it! The choice was between the WAH London false nails, nail polish and nail art pens. Obviously, as a false nail junkie I went for those. I'm not really keen on the shape but I wanted to give them a go and see if I like the look of them on me, and if not, I didn't actually pay for them!

They retail for around £9 so just to get these, you've almost got your monies worth from the box! From the selection of colours which it shows on the box, I think these are the ones I would probably use the most. They are kind of long though, which is the major downfall so I'm not too sure when I am going to wear them, as I find it a lot of hassle to file them down. I'll stick with it though as I may as well use them! :)

So as for the design of the box, the theme this month was 'free your mind'. The box is black and white and comes with crayons so you can colour it in. I'm not sure where the sudden fascination has come from to colour recently, but I think I like it. It's a cute idea.

So moving on, the Mirenesse matte lip colour is beautiful! I've just tried this and honestly, it hasn't dried my lips out and has left them feeling so soft. It smells gorgeous too! This is worth £21 for the full size, so it really is a luxury sample! I'm slightly gutted it costs so much as it's such a nice product, I just want to buy all the colours!!

I also got the PARLOR sea salt spray, which smells like peaches, which I am really looking forward to using!
The Whish body butter in 'almond' which I'm glad about, as I previously had one in lavender but I'm not a big fan of the scent. This one smells more of shea butter though, so I feel like I might use it more.

As a little bonus item, I got the Number 4 hair mask, I've had some of their products before and they're really good so I am looking forward to using this!

The final beauty item is the Jelly Pong Pong blush/bronzer duo. Whilst the colours are really nice, I think it's going to be hard to use the tiny sample as a cheek product due to it being so small. I'll give it a whirl and if not I might have to use it as an eyeshadow or something.

So all in all I absolutely love this box, and if any of you were thinking of signing up to it, DO IT!
Here's a link for you to do so!

I recently popped into Boots to buy the Clinique high impact mascara.. I got a sample of it in a magazine a while ago and fell in love with it!
I'd been wanting to purchase the full size for ages but never took the plunge, I'm glad I waited.
Boots have a gift set on (I'm assuming it's some sort of mothers day gift) where you can get the full size mascara and a sample of the 'All About Eyes' eye cream and the 'Take Off The Day' make up remover.  For the same price!

So for £17.50 you get the two free samples, along with the mascara. I didn't realise till I asked for the mascara and she mentioned this, I didn't quite believe her to be honest!

The mascara is one of the best I've ever tried and I absoloutely love the brush. I'm a big fan of bristle brushes and find my favourite mascaras usually have these.

The mascara itself comes in Black or Black/Brown (But I think the gift set is just in black) and is the perfect consistency! I can't sing its praises enough, you just NEED to try it... and especially since they have the gift sets where you get a couple of freebies, you can't really say no.

I'm really looking forward to trying out these products as I've not tried them yet but I've heard really good things about these flying around the internet!

As a total impulse buy, I picked up the 'Revolution' palette 'Flawless'. It's the perfect nude palette and has 32 shades. I'm a big fan of the eyeshadows from Revolution and love the dupes for naked palettes as they're a much cheaper alternative! This palette was only £8 and is certainly worth the money!

I have no idea why but it just gives me some sort of thrill when they have names, as most of the cheaper brands don't tend to name their colours all the time, which can be annoying!

So I was absolutely thrilled to discover this palette had names! It's a little annoying that it's on a plastic sheet that may potentially get lost... but who am I to complain?!
The palette includes both shimmers and matte so is perfect to create any eye look you would want to. It's got neutrals and even has a couple of burgandy shades, which I'm recently getting into! Huge bonus!
I also like that it has darker, almost black shades in as some neutral palettes usually lack these.

So I know I'm singing it's praises so far, there has to be something wrong with it... right? Wrong!

The pigmentation
on these is absolutely amazing! This was from just one swipe of the colour. With palettes as good as this around, it really makes me not want to buy any of the naked palettes, as nice as they look, I would much rather spend £8 on a palette like this and get a wider selection of colours.

Both MUA and Revolution never fail to impress me with their eyeshadows, I've almost got all of the MUA palettes now and it's starting to become a bit of an addiction!
What are your favourite products from Revolution? Let me know if there's any must-haves that I need to try!

I've been eyeing up Milani cosmetics for the longest time! After seeing so many people talk about them on YouTube, I fell in love with them..
As they're not so readily available in the UK, I had to order them from Amazon, which I found to be surprisingly cheap!
I was immediately drawn to the rose powder blushes, because I'm a sucker for for anything that looks pretty and with the blusher looking like a rose, I couldn't resist.

I got the colour 'Coral Cove' (05) and I have to admit I was a little scared it would be too bright, as you can never really tell the exact colour when you're buying things online - one of the only downsides. Luckily, it was the perfect coral-y colour - it's not too bright but it's bright enough and it looks absolutely amazing on. I did take me a while to convince myself to use it 'cause I didn't want to ruin how pretty it looked, but I've used it a couple of times and the rose is still going strong! Hoping this means it's going to last me a long time, a little goes a long way with this one.

I also got a couple of lipsticks, 06 'Cherry Crave' (Left) and 12 'Flamingo Pose' (Right).
First off, the packaging is so nice! I think gold can often look a bit cheap but it's made well and looks fairly decent, and they weren't even that expensive! The lipsticks themselves smell like watermelon, which is divine. I hate it when lipsticks smell of crayons and tend to stay clear of these, so I was really happy when I smelt these, weird, I know!

The colours themselves are a little bit 'out there' for what I usually go for but they have a good colour pay off and I've been enjoying wearing them.
I just wish Amazon had more of a colour range :(

I accidentally had a little splurge and fell into Harvey Nichols...

I didn't get a whole lot of things, because I felt like I should control my spending and not spend all my loan at once! But I just couldn't resist grabbing a few things I'd be wanting for a long time...

I felt like it was a crime not to get MAC's studio fix fluid, cause I've heard it's brilliant and I wanted to try it! I don't actually have a foundation as full coversge as this, so it was about time I spent the money on it.
I also got the paint pot in 'soft ocre', as much as I love my maybelline colour tattoos, I thought it was worth it to spend a bit more on a more luxury one, since i know its something I'm goi to get a lot of use out of!

Finally, I got the NARS illuminator in Copacobana, which I'd been lusting over for a few weeks...I originally wanted Benefit's high beam, but after seeing reviews of this one, I opted for this one instead.

I'm so happy with everything I got, I know for a fact I'll be going back soon and spending more money I don't have. Feel free to give me suggestions on what else I should get, doesn't take much persuading!

So I've attempted to compile a list of my  favourites of 2014, I've probably missed loads out 'cause apparently trying to remember what you've been using for the past year is a harder task than it seems!

Beauty

A foundation that I've been using for pretty much the whole year is Rimmel's 'wake me up' (pictured above). I noticed a lot of people have said that the shimmer in it is too much but I've never really noticed it that much and no ones picked me up on it. So unless I've been walking around like an extra from Twilight and nobody has bothered telling me, I'd say the shimmer isn't too over powering. The only downside to it I'd say, is the colour range.. this is Ivory (100) but it isn't exactly pale, gives you a good excuse to get a tan though.

I struggled to narrow concealer down to one, so I just chose 2 ;)
The Collection lasting perfection concealer (right) is one of the best I've used, for the price.. I think it's around £4 but it's so good and such good value! I've got shades 1 and 2, and use the lighter one under my eyes and the darker one everywhere else.
The Kiko full coverage concealer (left) is a more recent discovery but I love it! It's a thicker consistency yet still feels really creamy and it's perfect for covering up dark circles and any blemishes. It's still only £7.50 so it's not all that expensive neither!

For blush, I went for Sleek's blush in 'Life's a peach'. It was a toss up between this one and a brighter pink by the same brand but I felt like I got a lot more use of this one this year. It's the perfect coral colour, not too bright.

For blushes (and other products, from what I've heard) Sleek is a really good quality brand and nothing is more expensive than £10, including the blush palettes from them, which I happen to love very much.

The MUA palette in 'undress me too' has been my go-to eyeshadows for literally the entire year! Mine is looking incredibly well-loved (grubby) so I decide against taking a picture of it. It's supposed to be a dupe for the Naked palette, but at a very reasonable price of £4, I've used to death and I'm considering getting another because the 3 colours I use the most are basically all gone... :( Good sign of a favourite though!

I'm gutted I only have a sample size of the Clinique high impact mascara - I think I got it in a magazine at some point, but it's one of the best mascaras ever and I'll probably buy it once this has had it. The brush doesn't even look that spectacular as I'm usually into bigger brushes on my mascaras but I've been converted!
Maybelline colour tattoo in On and On Bronze has again, been one of those products I've reached for almost every day, I'm a fan of the neutral colours for eyes so this makes a really great base.

Skincare

I wont go into too much detail with these 'cause I don't know too much about skincare, other than these products are amazing and you need to try them (if you haven't already!). I tend to stick to what I know and what I've seen with a lot of reviews but I got the Dr. Jart toner in a birchbox and I'm so glad I did or I probably wouldn't have ever tried it.

Hair
My hair can be pretty unruly at time as it's naturally pretty wavy. The Macadamia leave in cream has been one of my favourites for the past couple of years and does a fantastic job of making my hair really smooth.
The Tresemme 7 day smoothing system is something I only tried out recently but holy smokes, it's the best thing in existence. I literally didn't straighten my hair for around 3 days and it was still stick straight! Very impressed, I was!

TV

Pretty Little Liars
I only started watching this towards the end of the year, but as always I've binge watched it and almost watched the entire first season. If you haven't seen it - watch it, it's so good!
American Horror Story
I've almost finished season 2 - and is it just me who preferred the firs to the second?! Everyone I've spoken to loved the 2nd and in all honesty, I can't wait to get onto season 3, it's still good though..

So there's just a few of the things I've enjoyed using/watching this year, I know I missed a few out but I didn't want to make this too long and boring for you to read. Let me know what you've been loving this past year!

Much Love,
Dannie xo

Hi!

I've wanted to start a beauty blog for a while and after much persuasion and encouragement from a friend, I finally did it! Since I work in a beauty store and practically own half its contents (I wish I was over exaggerating) it’s fair to say I've trialed and tested enough products to give a decent opinion on them.

I’m pretty much a natural at talking people into how great something is and encouraging them to buy it, so why not put it out on the internet so it’s actually useful to people who were considering buying it anyway, rather than making just my friends spend money on things they hadn't even considered previously.

I tend to stick to high street/drugstore products since I’m only 21 and a student so unfortunately, I don’t have the money to splurge on higher end, luxury products so if you’d be interested in hearing my thoughts and opinions, give me a follow!

See you next time,
Dannie xo

Hello..

See you next time,
Dannie xo
