Beauty Binge!

I AM SO IN LOVE WITH THIS MONTHS BIRCHBOX!!!

The May birchbox brought another 'pick your own sample'. I love it when they do this as it's good to get the choice of one product so you know you're going to actually like it! The choice was between the WAH London false nails, nail polish and nail art pens. Obviously, as a false nail junkie I went for those. I'm not really keen on the shape but I wanted to give them a go and see if I like the look of them on me, and if not, I didn't actually pay for them!

They retail for around £9 so just to get these, you've almost got your monies worth from the box! From the selection of colours which it shows on the box, I think these are the ones I would probably use the most. They are kind of long though, which is the major downfall so I'm not too sure when I am going to wear them, as I find it a lot of hassle to file them down. I'll stick with it though as I may as well use them! :)

So as for the design of the box, the theme this month was 'free your mind'. The box is black and white and comes with crayons so you can colour it in. I'm not sure where the sudden fascination has come from to colour recently, but I think I like it. It's a cute idea.

So moving on, the Mirenesse matte lip colour is beautiful! I've just tried this and honestly, it hasn't dried my lips out and has left them feeling so soft. It smells gorgeous too! This is worth £21 for the full size, so it really is a luxury sample! I'm slightly gutted it costs so much as it's such a nice product, I just want to buy all the colours!!

I also got the PARLOR sea salt spray, which smells like peaches, which I am really looking forward to using!
The Whish body butter in 'almond' which I'm glad about, as I previously had one in lavender but I'm not a big fan of the scent. This one smells more of shea butter though, so I feel like I might use it more.

As a little bonus item, I got the Number 4 hair mask, I've had some of their products before and they're really good so I am looking forward to using this!

The final beauty item is the Jelly Pong Pong blush/bronzer duo. Whilst the colours are really nice, I think it's going to be hard to use the tiny sample as a cheek product due to it being so small. I'll give it a whirl and if not I might have to use it as an eyeshadow or something.

So all in all I absolutely love this box, and if any of you were thinking of signing up to it, DO IT!
Here's a link for you to do so!

I've definitely fallen off the face of the earth recently (or just living in the library) doing my dissertation but now I'm very almost done, I'm trying to get back into blogging again because let's be honest, what will I do with my time when I've finished uni?!

I feel like the months go SO much quicker when I get a monthly subscription box, weird isn't it!
Anyway, this month was the 'royally good' box and holy smokes, I love it.  It's the first box in ages where I've been really excited about everything!

I think it's cute how they've chosen to go for the whole royal baby scene and give out either blue or pink boxes, it's such a good idea to use it as a competition opportunity!

This month we got the option to choose between 3 Laura Mercier products, I chose the foundation primer as I'd heard really good things about it and wanted to give it and go. I'm not really one to use a primer so didn't really want to spend the money on it myself. I can't get over how big the sample size is though!

The other products included the Liz Earle cleanse and polish, which I've never used but have always wanted to try it. A Korres body milk that smells like pears and is absolutely beautiful. A no oil oil hair... oil which is something that I would use and a lilac nail polish. We all know how much I love nail polish!
The final beauty extra is the warming clay mask, which I'm a little scared of because warming face masks kind of scare me but I'll certainly give it a go.
I  always feel like I don't give much explanation of the products because I've not actually used them but I always want to get this post out asap so people know what is in this months box! (I did a lot of research into boxes before I chose Birchbox).

I highly recommend this box as it's really good this month, certainly worth the money. As always, if you want to sign up using the link below, you'll recieve £5 worth of points to spend in the box, so that's an added bonus!

If there's one thing that excites me by the start of the new month, it's Birchbox! I always look forward to trying the products and seeing what goodies are inside, I wish I could afford to subscribe to all the beauty boxes out there, I really do :(

So the one thing that I was really excited for, was the design of the box itself. As they collaborated with Habitat this month, the box had a really lovely design.

Let's get onto the contents of the box..

I must say I was a little  disappointed with the contents and after speaking to a few others, they feel the same way!  The first thing I noticed was that there was no bag inside like usual. I loved the bags as I found they were really useful and I actually got use out of them.

The first thing is Benefit - Bad gal Lash which I actually chose as it's my favourite mascara of the three that they have so it's always good to have a back up (and saves me buying it again!).

The fragrance Catherine Malandrino - Style de Paris isn't too bad! I'm usually into sweeter scents but I can just about cope with this, it's not totally amazing but it's always good to have perfume samples as they're easy to carry around.

Philip Kingsley - Elasticizer, at first I thought this was just a shampoo, which I was happy about as I'm going to London in a couple of months so travel sizes are ideal! However after reading the card just now, I've found it to be a pre-treatment shampoo! Which I'm even more excited about as I've never really tried anything like that before! It retails for £27.50  so the chances of me ever purchasing it is slim, but it's nice to have the chance to try it.

I've recently been getting more into body scrubs so to receive the Janjira - Thai lime and ginger shower scrub was pretty exciting. I recently bought 3 from soap and glory so I'm going to save this one for when I go away! It smells really fresh and I'm pretty excited to try it. It's priced at £22 so it's going to have to be pretty spectacular if I'm ever going to buy it.

The last beauty related item is the Lord & Berry Couture kohal kajal eye pencil in black, which is the only colour eye liner I ever use! I've only ever tried their bronzer before (a sample through birchbox previously) but I didn't fall in love with it. Hopefully this one, I will! You can never have too many black eye liners though so I was glad to get this!

The lifestyle extras included a mini notebook which is super cute, and a preview of a book. I'm not really into getting book chapters as much as I would used to have. I don't have the time to read so much any more so it doesn't really interest me to get these!

As always, there is a coupon code for 20% off the collaborated brand and there is also a few sneak peaks for the next box!
There is going to be a Laura Mercier sample in the April box and it also mentions another pick your own sample, which I always love doing!
It also mentions a limited edition box coming in April, which I am VERY excited for!

When I first opened the birchbox, I was a little let down but to be honest, after thinking about each product in depth and writing this, it's made me realise that it isn't actually that bad of a box! I'll admit there has been MUCH better months, but it's not a terrible box altogether. There's a few brands that I haven't heard of so it's good to try them out.

If you were thinking about getting this box but haven't fallen in love with this months, make sure to have a look at previous months as it has been so much better before.

If you fancy signing up and use the link below, you'll get 50 points to spend in the BirchBox shop (Equal to £5)!

April Birchbox - Review
